I was a Junior Programmer/Developer for 3 years at TSSG (Telecommunications Software & Systems Group) Waterford, a large information and communications technologies research institute in Ireland.
I also have experience as a Game developer.
I earned a BSC Hons (Bachelor of Science Honors) degree in Entertainment Systems.
My favorite part of my job is talking to plenty of different customers and making them laugh – especially on a Friday – people tend to be a lot more relaxed.
If I’m not working or sleeping, I’m usually hanging out with friends. We like board games, D&D, gaming. I studied game development, so I’ll play anything.
I was probably eating dirt. I grew up in the countryside. When it was raining, I was on a computer. When it wasn’t raining, I was outside, hanging around the farm, lighting fires and stuff.
I was getting bored of Ireland and I’d always wanted to go to Calgary. I had friends here already, so it seemed like a natural choice. I knew I’d have a couch to crash on while I got myself settled.
In Ireland, there are two kinds of weather – cold rain and warm rain. I love the weather in Calgary. I actually love the cold.
It’s not really weird, but in Ireland, venison is normal. We had a steady supply, so I ate a lot of it there.
I have a broad taste in music. If it has a beat, I’ll listen to it. (Except death metal or scream. Is that really music?)
I can’t pick just one. Living in Ireland, it was cheap and easy to travel. I’ve been all over Europe, Egypt, and some places in the US. In Europe, plane tickets are cheap, so I visited Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands…
I realize now I didn’t appreciate it as a kid. Now I want to start visiting some Asian countries.
